Historic Little Italy Housing Committee Goals for 2010

	Work with the Design Committee on the annual Clean-Up, Green-Up week.
	Add more participanta to the "Adopt a Park" (block, lot) program.
	Plant more trees!
	Continue working with teh School Board to develop relationships between Roosevelt Middle School and the Historic Little Italy neighborhood.
	Develop synergies among the Cathedral Prep complex, the skatepark, and Columbus Park.
	Clean and upgrade one additional alley in the neighborhood.
	Continue to remove blighted properties.
	Convert another vacant lot into a positive use.
	With the Design Committee, prepare final plans for the parking improvements on the north side of the 200 block of West 16th Street, including securing site control, acquiring funding, and bidding and constructing the project.
	Continue to encourage truck traffic to use West 12th Streeet, and implement other positive measures to encourage the redirection of truck traffic off of West 18th Street.
	Continue to enforce the new maintenance codes.
	Complete the townhomes project and market it.
	Work with HANDS, ERA, and the City to recruit a market-rate housing developer to construct at least one new housing project while continuing to work with ERA, HANDS, and the City on housing rehabilitation, home ownership projects, and employer-enabled housing.
	Evaluate and enhance the home ownership program.
	Continue working with the City to successfully implement the rental inspection program in the neighborhood.
